Yes. Clean Truck Check applies to any covered vehicle that operates in California, regardless of where it's registered. Out-of-state vehicles have compliance deadlines based on the last digit of the VIN rather than a DMV renewal date. We regularly test out-of-state carriers, port drayage trucks, and vehicles just passing through.

No. The state charges its own fee — about $32 a year per truck — paid directly to CARB in the CTC-VIS portal. Our price is just for coming out and doing the test. Need a hand with the portal? We'll walk you through it.

We show you exactly what failed. Get it fixed, we come back and retest free within 30 days — you just cover the drive. One heads-up: if the shop clears codes, the truck needs about a week of normal driving before it can pass again. We'll tell you when it's ready.

CARB's roadside monitors flagged your truck — you have 30 days to send them a passing test. We come to you and submit results the same day. Don't sit on it: ignoring an NST can mean violations and a DMV registration hold.

Biggest thing: drive it normally first. If anyone cleared codes, disconnected the battery, or did emissions work, the truck needs about a week of regular driving before the test counts — otherwise it reads "Not Ready" and the trip's wasted. Also check the check-engine light is off and we can reach the OBD plug.

We cover Orange County (home base), Los Angeles County including port cities and industrial corridors, and the Inland Empire (Riverside & San Bernardino counties). If you don't see your city listed, call us. We likely cover it.

By distance from our Tustin base, charged once per visit — never per truck. Free within 5 miles of Tustin; $20 for 5-10 mi, $30 for 10-15 mi, +$10 per additional 5 miles. A yard 20 miles out is $40; 25 miles is $50. Use the estimator in the pricing section to get your exact fee — or call for yards outside the standard coverage area.

You pay the rate for however many trucks we test that day. Book 15, have 8 ready? Those 8 get the 2–9 rate ($90 OBD). Not all trucks there or some not ready? No problem — we'll come back within 14 days and test the rest at the same rate. You just cover the drive for the extra trip.
